Writing and Content Creation Volunteer

Overview:

The Peace Economy Project, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting peace, economic justice, and the redirection of resources from military to social and environmental needs, is seeking a talented and motivated Writing and Content Creation Volunteer. This role is ideal for someone passionate about using their writing skills to educate, inspire, and mobilize people towards advocating for a peaceful and equitable world.

Responsibilities:

• Content Development: Write compelling and informative content for our website, blog, newsletters, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
• Storytelling: Craft engaging stories that highlight the impact of our work, success stories, and the importance of peace and economic justice.
• Research and Interviews: Conduct research and interviews to gather information and insights for articles, blog posts, and feature stories.
• Editing and Proofreading: Ensure all content is clear, error-free, and consistent with our organizational voice and messaging guidelines.
• Collaboration: Work closely with our communications team to develop content ideas, calendar planning, and strategy alignment.
• Advocacy Support: Create persuasive content to support our advocacy campaigns, including call-to-action posts, advocacy letters, and campaign materials.

Qualifications:

• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling, and accurate content.
• Creativity and a passion for storytelling, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
• Strong research skills and the ability to distill complex topics into accessible content.
• Familiarity with peace, economic justice, and nonprofit advocacy work is highly desirable.
• Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and basic SEO principles is a plus.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a remote team.

Time Commitment:

This is a flexible, remote volunteer position requiring approximately 5-10 hours per week. We value our volunteers' time and strive to accommodate individual schedules.

Location:

As this is a remote position, volunteers can be based anywhere with reliable internet access.
