Embark on a multicultural journey with us! We are thrilled to introduce an extraordinary volunteer opportunity with our nonprofit 501(c)(3), founded by a Sony recording artist deeply rooted in the art, music, and theater world. Joining our cause means becoming a part of the Paint Brushes Not Guns Poughkeepsie 24 Initiative, where we believe in the Native American philosophy that music, art, dance, and theater can be powerful healers for broken and traumatized communities. “Main St. Maestros” is the name of our Spring ’24 season, a multicultural arts program at 488 Main St. Poughkeepsie, NY for ages 8 – 12.
About Us: At the heart of our mission is the commitment to educate, strengthen, and nurture the artistic and musical spirit of children in low-income communities. From March 3 to May 3, we engage in a meaningful journey that culminates in a spectacular event, showcasing the tpower of creativity.
Our Initiative: The Paint Brushes Not Guns: Main St. Maestros is our dedication to leveraging the power of arts to combat urban violence and drug addiction. We firmly believe that by providing children with avenues for artistic expression, we can create a positive impact that ripples through communities, fostering healing and resilience.
