PIE works to guarantee the long-term economic stability of newly arrived refugees and immigrants in King County by providing tailored assistance in language acquisition, housing stabilization, workforce entry, and job training in higher-wage industries.
Position Description
Serving on the PIE board is a rewarding experience and an opportunity to support an organization dedicated to the economic stability of immigrants/refugees through livable wage work and job trainings in south King County. The board meets once a month and plays a crucial role in delivering strategic leadership, governance and fostering the development of the organization’s resources.
The ideal board candidate:
· Serve as an ambassador for PIE, to connect us to a network of people who are passionate about advancing our mission.
· Leverage their experience in communications, development, accounting, or legal to support the organization’s growth.
· Help set the direction, strategy and provide overall oversight of the organization.
· Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for meetings, and reviews and provides feedback on minutes and reports.
· Builds a meaningful working relationship with other board members that contributes to the growth and consensus of the organization.
· Participates in the board's annual evaluation and planning efforts.
· Participates in the advancement of PIE’s strategic plan including fundraising and member recruitment.
· Members serve two-year terms, with the potential to extend.
· Prepare for, attend, and actively participate in 1.5-hour monthly board meetings.

A team member meets with candidates to learn more about them and determine if the board role is a good fit.
