Description

Youth Education Facilitator

Guide to High School is an after-school program that helps Grade 7 students in their transition to high school. We go through different topics each week for total of 8 weeks (February-May) including healthy living, stress management, friendships, bullying, peer pressure, and media messages. The program runs at local high schools in Surrey, Burnaby, and Vancouver from 3-6pm (including set up and clean-up).

Each program is delivered by a team of volunteers. The team will facilitate discussions and activities while sharing their experience on each topic. Volunteers also receive an Inclusive Leadership and Facilitation Certificate at the end if they attend all training and 75% of the sessions.

Qualifications:

No prior experience needed.

Volunteers must provide Criminal Record Check and complete all training before the program starts. If you are volunteering for the first time with us since 2020, please schedule 30-minute interview with us once you submit your application – the interview is to check your availability and provide detailed introduction to the program.
