Description

American Red Cross: Disaster Preparedness - Home Fire Safety Team Member

The Red Cross responds to an average of more than 60,000 disasters, 90% are home fires. With partners, we are working to help reduce death and injuries from home fires in high-risk communities. The Home Fire Campaign aims to save lives by installing free smoke alarms and educating residents about home fire risk by providing home-safety checklists and plans in vulnerable neighborhoods.

Team Members gather on Saturdays (Tuesdays coming soon) to fulfill installation appointments or canvas neighborhoods, working with local fire departments and community organizations. We ask for one event day per month, plus attendance at quarterly planning meetings. Training and supplies provided.
