Job description

Through the Community Builder Program, the Communications Capacity Building Member will assist the Communications Manager in creating and planning social media content, writing newsletter articles, managing the 2025 calendar project, editing videos, and monitoring inboxes. This person will collaborate with FARRMS staff in creating new marketing projects and continue to maintain existing marketing activities.

 Essential Duties include:  assisting in building media contact lists of regional newspapers, radio stations, tv stations; assisting in writing and updating press releases; growing the capacity of the media archive; and assisting with monitoring inboxes of social media, email, etc. They will assist Staff FARRMS at outreach booths at community events and grow FARRMS' capacity by gathering and creating content (photography, videography); supporting the program facilitator by designing program slides and digital resources educational program; assisting the Communications Manager in planning and creating marketing materials; collecting farmer photos and bios; conducting video and audio interviews create promotional and educational content and producing them for social media; and assisting with FARRMS' e-newsletter. They will assist Program Staff in the development of content for a farmer-focused digital marketing course: they assist with the logistics of the 2025 Farmer Calendar by contacting farmers and photographers, edit farmer bios collecting recipes, and assisting in sponsorship recruitment. They will grow the capacity of all. FARRMS educational programs for local food marketing by producing paper and digital materials and assisting with logistics. They will participate in AmeriCorps training, professional development opportunities, days of service, and activities as required by Souris Basin Planning Council.
