Description

The Global Partnership for Civic Engagement is looking for Volunteers for its Research Team!

(All volunteers for this position are known as Leadership Development Fellows).

Are you a globally-aware citizen, motivated about the opportunity to make a difference? Are your research skills your greatest asset? Can't wait to work and learn with a team of bright minds from around the world? 


As a Research Fellow under the supervision of the Volunteer Fellow Coordinator (and the Executive Director), you will support the organization with the tasks, including: 

  • Conduct research to identify systemic initiatives for the Better Century Awards, our main program, in any of the following categories: Culture & Community; Economics & Employment; Education & Media; Energy; Environment, Food & Water; Health; Housing; Policy & Governance; Religion & Spirituality, and; Science & Technology.
  • Basic data organization and maintenance


Structure:

Please note that this volunteer fellowship is unpaid. Flexible duration, but a minimum of three months of commitment is expected. This volunteering position requires 5 to 15 hours of commitment per week, including 1 hour per week of video-conferencing, to check in and discuss objectives and performance with the Executive Director and Volunteer Coordinator. The workload is shared among team members and can be done autonomously on your own schedule.


Requirements:

  • Strong online research skills and excellent writing skills.
  • Be detail-oriented, in addition to being an organized researcher.
  • Ability to work autonomously, yet never hesitates to ask for help.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills both writing and speaking.
  • A specialization in any (or all) of our 10 award categories is a considerable advantage.
  • Strong interest in global issues, the UN SDGs, and other systemic challenges is highly desirable.
