Description

Volunteer in our Shelter

Volunteer in Our Shelter (must be over 18): We are open 7 days a week, and the shift is from 5pm - 8pm/10pm.

Located in one of the most distressed neighborhoods in Northern California, St. Vincent de Paul's West Oakland Direct Service Campus provides those most in need with the basic necessities for everyday life.

St. Vincent de Paul is currently the largest and only free shelter in Oakland. We are able to house 100 guests every night.

In the last two years the homeless population in Oakland grew by 44%. Now is the time to help those most in need in our city.

By volunteering in our shelter you can help your neighbors and build a stronger community.

Volunteers help set up the cots, prep food and assist with meal service. We encourage folks to bring their unique interests and skills into their work as volunteers. If there is anything you would like to share with the folks we serve please let me know.
