Volunteer Commuications Assistant-Remote Position

The Project Somos Children’s Learning Village, situated in the Central Highlands of Guatemala, is a nurturing educational community for at-risk children in Guatemala. It provides Early Childhood Education, academic support, english classes and nutritional programming.

The Volunteer Communications Assistant supports the Project Country Director to send out about 18 newsletters each year.

The Volunteer Communications Assistant updates content posted on the organization’s website. The position would require 5-10 hours/month. 

Core Responsibilities

Layout of newsletters through Mailchimp. 

Sending test newsletters and receiving feedback and guidance.

Managing Mailchimp lists in collaboration with Country Director.

Sending finalized newsletters to supporters and donors, using Mailchimp.

Help update content on website (WordPress).

Committed to and passionate about giving children access to education and healthy food. 

Self-motivated and comfortable balancing multiple tasks.

Flexible and adaptive.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Collaborative individual who takes direction well. 

Education and Experience

Proficiency in all things Mailchimp.

Familiarity with Wordpress.

Relevant work experience ideal but this would be the perfect place to gain some experience.

Demonstrated competency in communications.
