Female genital mutilation is a sad reality. It is common to many countries in Africa and Burkina Faso is among the countries where the phenomenon is really serious. More than 200 million girls and women alive today have been cut in 30 countries in Africa, the Middle East and Asia where FGM is concentrated. Though forbidden in many countries, the practice continues under several forms.

Education is our answer to these widespread devastating sociocultural practices

Female genital mutilation comprises all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

The second concern is child marriage/early aged forced marriage before the age of 18 years old but very often, some girls aged of 10 years 12 years 15 years are withdrawn from schools for marriage for some reasons, and poverty is at the hearr of them, most often because of a higher dowry for the family 

The project aims at

• Raising awareness on children's health and increase receptiveness among our illiterate practising community. 

• Increasing skills and c confidence within an illiterate practising community to influence our illiterate women to reject the procedure as part of their identity

• Improving coordination of local community's activities on children and young girls' health issue
