Who We Are:

Night Owl Reconnaissance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the purpose to contribute to the detection and prevention of causes that lead to missing individuals, assisting in investigations of missing persons, and offering victim assistance and resources to those recovered. Founded in 2019, we have focused on investigating individual missing persons cases I while working to expand to the detection and prevention of missing persons and offering resources for those who have been recovered.

We understand that there are many reasons for a person to go missing, whether it be child abduction, sex trafficking, escaping domestic abuse, or death. Our aim is to work with law enforcement to ensure the safety of anybody reported missing. We also understand that people willingly leave hostile or abusive situations and are reported missing. In these situations, we will work with law enforcement to communicate it as a willing separation and offer any services to the victim we are able.

Our aim is to become a collection of industry experts who collaboratively work with other organizations to contribute our of skills and knowledge.

Position Duties:

The Night Owl Reconnaissance Investigation Division conducts research into instances of alleged or suspected missing person investigations using a suite of techniques, analysis, and methods to then send relevant information to the proper authorities.

We are seeking individuals who have a knack for uncovering hidden details and a natural ability to empathize with people from diverse backgrounds.

As a Case Assessment Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of our investigations by diligently reviewing social media platforms and websites for missing persons cases that our team of OSINT investigators to pursue. You will compile and organize collected information, ensuring its accuracy and completeness. You will contribute insights and perspectives based on your research findings. Additionally, you will maintain accurate documentation of research sources, methods, and results for future reference and case review. Your thorough internet research skills will support ongoing investigations by assisting in the identification of potential leads, connections, and patterns.

Your unique blend of intuition and adherence to organizational metrics will guide us in effectively channeling our investigative resources. Qualifications:

The candidate should possess an intuitive ability to search the internet and uncover information where others cannot. They should pride themselves in being able to find the 'needle in the haystack'.

Familiarity and ability to navigate various types of social media platforms.

An ability and desire to read, analyze, and distill large amounts of information from various sources and utilize that information to further an investigation.

Candidates should have a willingness to work in a collaborative setting. Possess empathy and compassion towards families affected by missing persons cases.

Previous field experience or related higher education is considered a bonus.

Time Commitment:

We ask that volunteers give at least one (1) hour per week when it fits their schedule.
