Director of Development

Job Description:

Night Owl Reconnaissance is looking for a Development Director. This individual will seek out fundraising opportunities, lead a team of grant writing volunteers, research and identify viable opportunities for funding, build rapport with funding personnel, and review/submit grant applications as identified and prepared by the Development team.

Responsibilities:

● Planning and evaluating fundraising campaigns and activities.

● Identifying and stewarding prospective donors.

● Working closely with the recruitment team to recruit fundraising volunteers.

● Train fundraising volunteers

● Facilitating weekly meetings with fundraising volunteers.

● Staying on top of fundraising trends in the nonprofit community.

● Communicating with donors and staff via email, phone or social media.

● Answering donor and staff inquiries in a timely fashion.

● Using prospect research tools and the donor database to build donor relationships.

● Drafting grant proposals and applications.

● Creating solicitation materials for the organization.

Job Requirements:

● Written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

● Fundraising software and tools experience.

● Donor and volunteer service mentality

● Ability to lead a team
