Description

SquashSmarts is looking for dedicated, consistent volunteers for our middle and high school academics sessions.

Middle school volunteers will assist 5th-8th grade students with daily homework help and grade level tutoring as well as providing help to the middle school academics director during instruction when needed.

High school volunteers will assist 9th-12th graders in SAT Prep, grade level tutoring, college and career preparation, and essay writing. High school volunteers may work with the high school academics director or the director of college and career development.


At North Philadelphia's Lenfest Center (3890 N. 10th St):

  • Middle School meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00
  • High School meets Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00


At West Philadelphia's Specter Center (25 N. 33rd St)

  • Middle School meets Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00
  • High School meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00

Founded in 2001, SquashSmarts providied high quality, high impact programs to girls and boys from the School District of Philadelphia’s most under resourced public schools.

 With headquarters in North Philadelphia’s Lenfest Center and West Philadelphia’s Arlen Specter U.S. Squash Center, SquashSmarts mission is to improve the lives of underserved youth from Philadelphia public schools by providing intensive, long-term academic tutoring and squash instruction, while imparting high standards of personal integrity, health and fitness, and service to the community.”
