NAMI Greater Boston Peer Support and Advocacy Network(PSAN) https://namiboston.org/people-living-mental-illness/

seeks an outreach and development associate who will work closely with co-founder Howard D. Trachtman, BS, CPS, CPRP, COAPS and our other staff.

We are a peer-run organization and will train people with lived experience of mental health and/or addictions for this volunteer position.

The main role is to go with us to other organizations to talk about recovery and the services offered by NAMI GB PSAN and the Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community, www.mbrlc.org



Right now this opportunity is virtual.

Here are some of the activities that an Outreach and Development Associate could do, no one is expect to do all activities:

Visit in person or communicate with other organizations to promote PSAN.

Help staff PSAN information table at conferences and events.

Communicate with existing PSAN members via phone, email and US mail.

Staff PSAN office.

Maintain database of PSAN members and verify accuracy of NAMI's database.

Recruit new PSAN members and renew lapsing members.

Provide peer support as needed.

Help with PSAN newsletter.

Prepare for NAMI Walk in May.

Help support legislative advocacy.

Provide input on updating website.

Liaison with NAMI Greater Boston Advisory Board.

Maintain NAMI literature and help distribute to community.

Help organize PSAN social events.

In Our Own Voice presenter or willing to take free training.

NAMI Connection group facilitator or willing to take free training.

Other duties as assigned by NAMI PSAN management
