Shoreline became one of the fifteen two-year and four-year institutions in the United States to receive a 2021 AANAPISI grant from the US Department of Education. The purpose of the grant is to build and expand Shoreline's capacity to serve Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, low income, and first-generation students. The grant enabled Shoreline to create a holistic program called WAVES (Worthy of Achievement, Validation, Empowerment and Success) to serve these populations. The AANAPISI Program Specialist position assists the Director in meeting the outcomes of the AANAPISI grant. The Program Specialist will be responsible to: assist students with enrollment and financial aid activities/onboarding and provide ongoing outreach and retention efforts to support cohort students; coordinate with tutoring services the delivery of peer tutors; assist with development and implementation of orientation; plan and implement academic activities and campus wide events; provide information and expertise to students, instructors, and to others. Collaborate and coordinate with the Director and other constituents as needed to accomplish and meet the AANAPISI project's goals, objectives, and outcomes.

Conditions of Employment Physical Work Environment: The College is currently providing services in a mixed modality of operations (both online and in-person services are offered). This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, using the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. This position may work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required.
Terms Of Employment/Salary: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement by and between The State of Washington and the Washington Federation of State Employees Article 4.4, Section D.1., Non-Permanent Employment - Classified positions, the Employer may make classified non-permanent appointments to fill in for the following categories: a. For the absence of a permanent Classified employee (including breaks/meals, absences, etc.), b. During a workload peak, c. While recruitment is being conducted, d. To reduce the possible effects of a layoff, e. When the nature of the work occurs at irregular intervals or does not fit a particular pattern. Non-permanent appointments will not exceed eighteen (18) months. This position is allocated to pay range 42 under the Washington State Office of Financial Management higher education salary schedule. Salary placement for new employees is determined by the College. Hiring of this position is contingent on available funding as determined by the College President.
