Signs of Justice is a Black-owned social justice brand using art, culture, and community to fuel progressive change. We're launching a Facebook community and expanding our digital presence to connect with supporters, amplify urgent issues, and build a strong grassroots network.
We’re looking for a part-time Community Manager who thrives on connection, keeps their finger on the pulse of current events, and can help us foster a vibrant, values-driven online space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Management
- Manage our Facebook Group, creating a welcoming, inclusive space for discussion
- Moderate comments, conversations, and posts to ensure respectful dialogue
- Encourage authentic engagement through discussion prompts, news sharing, and community shout-outs, learning sessions
- This includes being on camera leading webinars/learning session and generating solo videos from time to time (with direction from team)
- Respond to questions, comments, and DMs across Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and other platforms
- Proactively surface and elevate powerful stories, ideas, or voices from within the community
- Content & Engagement
- Collaborate with the team to plan weekly prompts, post content, and align with campaign goals
- Monitor social media trends and suggest timely content or conversations to join
- Maintain a consistent and empathetic brand voice across all engagement touchpoints
- Track engagement metrics and provide feedback on community sentiment and growth
- Culture & Safety
- Hold space for hard conversations around race, justice, and systemic oppression with care and boundaries
- Promote cultural competence, mutual respect, and emotional safety in all interactions
Qualifications:
- Experience managing or moderating online communities (Facebook Groups or similar)
- Strong understanding of social justice issues and progressive political movements
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Tiktok
- Demonstrated ability to foster online dialogue and manage conflict with empathy
- Self-starter with strong time management and reliability in remote work settings
Preferred but Not Required:
- Background in organizing, education, community care, or movement work
- Familiarity with Meta Business Suite or social media scheduling tools
- Personal connection to the mission or lived experience with marginalized communities
