    Position Overview

    Second Stage Theater is seeking a Manager of Development Operations to steward member data, ensuring its accuracy, accessibility, and security. The Manager of Development Operations is responsible for maintaining and managing the integrity of our donor data, ensuring it is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for effective fundraising and donor engagement. 

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    This role involves data entry, system maintenance, report generation, and supporting fundraising efforts through data analysis and segmentation. The Manager of Development Operations will report to the Director of Member Programs and Operations and will work to safeguard member information and adhere to data privacy policies. 

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining and updating member records, ensuring data accuracy and completeness. 
    • Gift and data entry, importing data from various sources, and ensuring data consistency. 
    • Generating acknowledgement letters in a timely and consistent manner
    • Overseeing the member database in Tessitura, ensuring data hygiene for optimal performance. 
    • Generating reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support fundraising and member engagement activities. 
    • Implementing and maintaining data security protocols to protect sensitive member information. 
    • Assisting with member communications, acknowledgements, and stewardship activities. 
    • Developing and implementing data management policies and procedures to ensure data quality and compliance. 
    • Working closely with IT and finance teams to support their data needs. 
    • Performs other duties to support the Development department/function, as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Database Management Expertise: Proficiency in using donor management software, Tessitura or similar CRM.
    • Data Analysis and Reporting: Ability to analyze data, generate reports, and extract meaningful insights. 
    • Data Entry and Accuracy: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. 
    • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders and provide training and support. 
    • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot database issues and identify solutions. 
    • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.

    Work Environment

    Time will be spent in an office with quiet to moderate noise level and occasionally in the theatre with often loud and amplified noises. The office environment requires using the computer, phone, and other routine office equipment. Majority of the work will be performed inside at room temperature.

    Physical Requirements

    Position requires long periods of sitting. While sitting in the office, employee is required to use hands, wrists, and fingers for keyboard and other office equipment. The employee may often use stairs throughout the day and walk throughout the theatres.

    Background Check

    Hours of Work

    Second Stage’s working hours are 10 AM to 6 PM. Hours may also include nights and weekends, as assigned.
