    Descripción

The Executive Director (“ED) role offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of the East River waterfront through a combination of community activities, advocacy and fundraising. Approximately 60% of the role is focused on fund-raising/development and 40% on community outreach and operating responsibilities such as programming, volunteer coordination and administrative tasks.

In addition to year-round fundraising, the ED will be responsible for planning and managing the annual benefit and other fundraising events, development (including Board-level recruiting), and grant writing.

Other responsibilities include planning waterfront programming (such as music and art-related events), oversight of landscaping and Esplanade-sponsored public art projects, advocacy, coordination with community and other related parks and advocacy organizations, elected officials and community boards, and general management of the non-profit's day to day operations. Regular communication with the public through social media and other channels as well as regular communication with the Board is also an important aspect of the job.

The Executive Director (“ED”) role is a full-time position, and assumes an average of 40 hours per week, however there are no specific scheduled hours and periodic evening and weekend work time is required. The ED is expected to attend all Board meetings, and participate in person at all waterfront activities, in addition to various community events and speaking engagements.
