Through Technovation, girls work in teams supported by mentors to develop mobile & AI based solutions to problems in their communities.     This is an exciting opportunity to lead the seamless integration and welcoming of an established women tech professionals network into the Technovation ecosystem. This strategic partnership combines two complementary global communities with over 12-15 years of development each, creating a seamless pathway from early tech education to professional leadership. At Technovation, we believe that fostering strong industry connections and building a vibrant community amongst industry professionals directly benefits the entire Technovation network. We are expanding that work in industry to include this network of women tech professionals, we are looking for a team member to help ensure a smooth transition into our community.

    We are looking for an organized, community builder who has experience building a program and managing multiple priorities.

    The ideal candidate understands the power of building for the community they are supporting and creating global connections in our digital world. As the Volunteer Network Program Manager at Technovation, you’ll work with the Technovation team to develop engaging professional development content and events for members of the community. This role will help us build an ecosystem of support for our current volunteer and alumnae programming, providing a space for learning, connection, and career development.

    You are a great fit if you:

    • have experience crafting communication strategies to inform and inspire audiences and drive them to take action
    • are comfortable with data, and know how to use it as a storytelling tool
    • have experience with digital marketing channels, content marketing, and consumer analytics
    • are curious and stay up to date on content and communication trends
    • have knowledge of the best practices of the digital marketing funnel

    Key Responsibilities

    As the Volunteer Network Program Manager, you’ll get to showcase your expertise in building programming that engages professionals at various stages of their careers, creating pathways for members to support the Technovation Girls ecosystem, and help lead a seamless and impactful integration of two incredible global communities. Your responsibilities will specifically include:

    Manage transition of professional network

    • Construct and implement a plan to retain at least 60% of the current network membership (10,000+)
    • Recruit, select, and lead a Transition Advisory Council consisting of existing network members and those part of the Technovation ecosystem
    • Support the running of virtual sessions with Technovation leadership addressing questions, and regional sessions connecting network members to local Technovation communities

    Communicate to the new community about organizational updates and offering

    • Maintaining robust digital platforms supporting 60,000+ active users with sophisticated data collection capabilities essential for performance accountability.
    • Create a monthly newsletter to update network members on new organizational initiatives, corporate partners offerings, events with the support of the Marketing Team
    • Consult on the strategy to engage members through existing network social media channels
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to highlight members of the women tech professional network on all Technovation-owned social media accounts

    Engage members of the women tech professional network in the Technovation ecosystem

    • Work with the Volunteer Programs Manager to share opportunities about volunteering with the Technovation Girls program as a Mentor, Coach, or Judge
    • Engage Technovation alumnae in events that they can participate in and gain value from the content
    • Establish a mentorship program for senior network members and Technovation alumnae
    • Consult the Programs Team and Volunteer Engagement Team on the most effective way to connect network members to their local Technovation participation

    Plan, prepare, and host a variety of events

    • Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Volunteer Programs and Fundraising Team to engage corporate partners and support stewardship of these partners and community members through events to feature speakers, highlight products or technical expertise, etc.
    • Create a schedule of events inline with the expectations set in advance, including but not limited to:
      • Regional meetups
      • Crossover Cafés: sessions for members of the network to share expertise in a designated subject with Technovation volunteers
      • Technical upskilling sessions: network members are invited to learn from corporate partners about a particular technical skill/software
      • Media training and public speaking: equipping network members with speaking skills to share about their own work
    • Work with the Marketing Team to create materials for the network to run their own International Women’s Day Events
      • Support members in managing logistics, where applicable
      • Amplifying member events in Technovation communications and social media, with the support of the Marketing Team
    • Collaborate with the Assessment team to create evaluations to assess event satisfaction and needs to inform planning of future events

    Ideal Candidate Skills

    • You are an exceptional program manager and passionate community builder
    • 5+ years experience in program management, community engagement, and event management
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking to audiences whose primary language is not English
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience designing with Canva
    • Passionate about empowering young girls and women around the world with skills to create a more equitable and sustainable future

    Great to have

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, English, information management, community development, adult learning or education or similar is preferred, but not required
    • Experience with workforce learning and development a plus
    • Experience with social media marketing a plus
    • Experience designing a plus
    • Experience working or volunteering with a nonprofit.
