Role Overview
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be the voice and visual storyteller of Team Survivor. In this role, you will elevate our brand, connect with our community, and amplify our mission. You’ll shape how we show up in the world—across digital platforms, print materials, fundraising campaigns, and events—while building relationships and growing engagement.
This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on implementation. From crafting newsletters and editing our website, to building compelling fundraising campaigns and coordinating member stories, you’ll play a central role in expanding our reach and deepening our impact.
Responsibilities
You’ll Lead and Evolve Our Brand Presence
You’ll ensure a consistent and compelling brand identity across all communication channels. Working closely with staff and volunteers, you’ll lead the development of an annual marketing plan, maintain a photo library, and maintain brand guidelines.
You’ll Drive Fundraising Campaigns That Inspire Action
Fundraising is a team sport, and you’ll be the marketing lead on campaigns like GiveBIG, the Gala, Mountain Climb, and Giving Tuesday. You’ll develop campaign themes, visuals, timelines, and messaging that inspire donors and increase visibility.
You’ll Create and Share Stories That Matter
At the heart of Team Survivor are the stories of our members. You’ll coordinate testimonials, highlight achievements, and write press releases for media and public engagement. You’ll also identify external content—research, articles, or news—that supports our values. These stories will power our annual report, fundraising appeals, and community communications.
You’ll Keep Our Website and Emails Fresh and Functional
You’ll manage and maintain our WordPress website, keeping content current and continuously improving the user experience. You’ll also run our email marketing (via Mailchimp), segmenting audiences and tracking engagement to ensure we’re reaching people effectively. You’ll produce regular Supporter newsletters and 1–2 additional campaign emails per month.
You’ll Empower Others to Join In
You’ll extend Team survivor’s reach by creating opportunities for staff, board and volunteers to amplify our mission. You’ll lead seasonal outreach and tabling opportunities, attending some yourself and recruiting volunteers for others. From recruiting a volunteer photographer to providing board toolkits, you’ll make it easy for others to share our story. You’ll also maintain the systems that keep communications running smoothly, including Mailchimp, WordPress, Social Media channels and Canva.
