    About SHARE

SHARE Cancer Support is a national nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that provides critical

support for the emotional and practical challenges that come with a diagnosis of breast or

gynecologic cancer, while also delivering life-saving information about signs, symptoms, and

screenings through on-the-ground community education. Established in 1976, SHARE is

committed to serving people of all races, cultures, backgrounds, and identities.

SHARE’s dedicated staff and volunteers—many of whom have faced their own

diagnoses—understand the needs of the diverse communities we serve. We provide a

comprehensive range of services in multiple languages, free of charge. We approach every

situation with deep empathy, and every voice is welcome, valued, and heard. Our goal is to ensure

that everyone has access to the support and information they need to feel connected, informed,

and empowered as healthcare consumers because no one should face cancer alone.

    Position Overview

The Senior Director of Supportive Services (Director) provides strategic and operational

leadership for SHARE's patient support services, including support groups, support lines, patient

navigation, and community outreach. The Director is responsible for continuously improving an

integrated service delivery model that ensures high-quality, equitable, and culturally responsive

support across all cancer types and communities SHARE serves. This role oversees strategy, staff

and volunteer leadership, quality assurance, program evaluation, workflow development,

partnerships, and the expansion of innovative support services that improve access, engagement,

    and patient outcomes.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Lead and standardize SHARE's supportive services infrastructure and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including support groups and support lines, across disease areas, languages, and communities.

    • Work closely with the Chief Program Officer and Senior Director of Educational Programs to integrate support services and educational programming, creating a seamless experience for patients and caregivers.
    • Assess and continuously evaluate SHARE's support lines and support groups to identifygaps, opportunities, and emerging needs. Lead the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of these programs to ensure they are high-quality, evidence-informed, equitable, and sustainable.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for Spanish-language supportive services coordination, ensuring that bilingual volunteers and participants are supported across disease areas.
    • Collaborate closely with disease area Program Directors, the Director of Health Outcomes and Strategic Partnerships, the Community Engagement Director, and the Data/Eval team to ensure that support services are informed by community needs, data, and an equity lens.
    • Update, oversee and provide initial training for volunteers and ongoing volunteer education.
    • Develop a resource hub for volunteer use containing SOPs, documentation, recordings, etc.
    • Additional duties/special projects as needed.
