    Position Title: Grant Program Manager

    Job Type: Part-Time, Contractor (20hr/wk August 2026-July 2027)

    Location: 100% remote

    Compensation: $50-$65/hour, DOE

    Accountable to: Executive Director

    Faith Foundation Northwest helps faith communities be financially healthy for the long run by providing socially responsible investments, planned giving support, loans, and grants. This nonprofit organization grew out of the United Methodist connection in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.     Grant Program Description

    Faith Foundation Northwest will issue rebates for the purchase and installation of high-efficiency electric equipment by small nonprofits across the state of Washington. These installations will benefit people who are disproportionately affected by climate change by improving climate control and indoor air quality in spaces where they receive social services. The program will maximize greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions by requiring electric conversions of spaces that currently use fossil fuels for heating and cooling.

    Eligible nonprofits that primarily benefit vulnerable populations, provide services full-time, and benefit a higher number of community members per square foot-- both on a weekly basis and as part of a community’s emergency response plan-- will be prioritized. At least 40% of rebates under this program will be awarded to applicants located in a census tract designated 8, 9 or 10 by the Washington Department of Health’s Environmental Health (EHD) Disparities Map and/or located in a census tract identified by the Washington State Office of Financial Management’s Overburdened Communities of Washington Map.

    Work Plan

    Stage 1: Preparation and Promotion, August - October 2026, Executive Director and Program Manager’s responsibility.

    Executive Director to recruit, hire, and train Program Manager. Program Manager to complete tribal consultations, prepare application, memorandum, and SOPs; publish and promote application; and invite priority communities to apply.

    Stage 2: Application, September - November 2026, Program Manager’s responsibility with Executive Director’s oversight.

    Open application period September 1 2026 - October 31 2026. Provide technical support to applicants. Coordinate with other grant administrators when applicable. Score applications, notify apparent successful applicants and reserve applicants, verify eligibility, and execute Memorandums of Agreement.

    Stage 3: Implementation, November 2026 - April 2027, Program Manager’s responsibility with support from Technical Advisor and oversight by Executive Director.

    Top scoring applicants in implementation stage from November 1 2026 to Jan 31 2027; reserve applicants in implementation stage only if funding allows from February 1 2027 through April 30 2027. Program Manager will: recommend qualified installers upon request; verify equipment installation via video site visit; process invoices and disburse funds; execute Closeout Memorandums. Technical Advisor will review all bids to verify equipment eligibility before installation begins, and audits of equipment eligibility will be completed by Executive Director at the close of each implementation period.

    Stage 4: Reporting, November 2026 - July 2027, Executive Director’s responsibility with Program Manager’s support.

    Recipients submit their first utility bill after installation, along with the bill from one year prior for a like-month to like-month comparison. Reporting due on the 15th of the month following the close of each quarter. Period of performance ends June 30 2027; closeout report to be submitted by July 15 2027.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prepare application, memorandum templates, and SOPs
    • Issue letters of notification to potentially impacted tribes statewide
    • Publish and promote application, invite priority communities to apply, and provide technical support to applicants
    • Coordinate with other grant administrators as needed
    • Score applications, notify apparent successful applicants and reserve applicants, verify eligibility, and execute Memorandums of Agreement
    • Coordinate with Technical Advisor to recommend qualified installers and verify equipment eligibility
    • Verify equipment installation via video site visit
    • Review invoices and forward for processing
    • Execute Closeout Memorandums
    • Manage grant budget per signed contract
    • Manage Grant Master Files, maintain data for each grant recipient that meets legal, auditing, and internal requirements
    • Communicate and collaborate with Foundation staff
    • Prepare and submit quarterly and closeout reports to Executive Director

    Professional Skills and Abilities

    • Proven track record of successfully managing government-funded grant programs of $643,500 or more
    • 5+ years professional experience
    • Detail orientated, systematic, proactive, communicative, and independent
    • Supportive stance toward faith-based nonprofit organizations
    • Ability to pass a background check

    Work Environment

    Faith Foundation Northwest operates in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington with a combination of local staff and remote staff. One way we stay embedded in and accountable to the communities we serve is by hiring staff and contractors from within this four-state area. This is a fully remote position. Our team collaborates via Google Docs, meets weekly via zoom, and communicates daily by group chat.
