WARM’s mission is to prevent and interrupt the cycle of abuse for women living in disenfranchised communities of color.

Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder, with wide latitude for independent judgment, the Director of Development will serve as a member of the Executive Management Team. The director will be the liaison to the development committee of the board of directors and key organization staff as WARM continues its growth.

    • Lead the development of highly competitive government grant proposals.
    • Review RFPs in their entirety and develop internal proposal workplans identifying requirements, deadlines, responsibilities, attachments, budgets, certifications, and submission requirements.
    • Ensure every proposal clearly and completely responds to the funder’s scope of work, evaluation criteria, program requirements, and performance expectations.
    • Coordinate proposal development across program, fiscal, executive, operations, and administrative teams.
    • Manage multiple concurrent proposals while maintaining strict adherence to submission deadlines.
    • Maintain knowledge of government procurement systems, funding cycles, contracting requirements, and relevant regulatory expectations.
    • Coordinate final proposal review and approval with executive leadership before submission.

    Grant Writing & Proposal Development

    • Research, write, edit, and submit compelling proposals, concept papers, letters of inquiry, grant applications, renewal requests, and other funding submissions.
    • Translate W.A.R.M.’s programs and impact into persuasive, data-informed narratives.
    • Develop strong responses addressing organizational capacity, community need, program design, implementation, staffing, partnerships, outcomes, performance measurement, sustainability, equity, and organizational experience.
    • Maintain and continuously improve W.A.R.M.’s core organizational narratives and proposal language.
    • Review previously submitted W.A.R.M. proposals and appropriately adapt successful content for new funding opportunities while ensuring each response is customized to the specific solicitation.
    • Work with program leadership to develop measurable goals, objectives, deliverables, and outcomes.
    • Partner with fiscal leadership to ensure proposal narratives, staffing plans, program models, and budgets are aligned.
