    Reports to: VP of Clinical Services

    Salary: $135,000/year

    Status: Full-time, Exempt

    About PHACS

    The Permanent Housing Advanced Clinical Services (PHACS) program brings trauma-informed, wrap-around mental health and behavioral health support to permanent supportive housing sites across San Francisco. These services are tailored for individuals with high-acuity needs—supporting their mental wellness as they rebuild their lives in stable housing.

    Your Impact as Director of Clinical Services

    As the Director of Clinical Services, you’ll lead a dedicated clinical team working at the intersection of housing, mental health, and social justice. You’ll guide daily operations, nurture a thriving team culture, and ensure we continue delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

    Your leadership will directly impact the mental wellness and housing stability of our community’s most marginalized members.

    What You'll Do

    Lead with Purpose

    • Oversee daily operations of the PHACS clinical team
    • Coordinate schedules, team huddles, and program meetings
    • Supervise a dynamic team of clinicians and case managers

    Champion Clinical Excellence

    • Provide individual and group supervision
    • Ensure documentation quality and compliance
    • Support group or individual therapy when needed

    Foster Growth

    • Provide ongoing training and professional development
    • Mentor new staff and onboard new team members
    • Conduct performance evaluations and guide staff success

    Collaborate Across Systems

    • Partner with SF Department of Public Health and other stakeholders
    • Respond to client needs, grievances, and concerns
    • Represent PHACS in leadership meetings and cross-agency collaborations

    What You Bring

    • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
    • Current licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist in good standing
    • Eligibility to supervise clinicians (2+ years post-licensure and supervision credential, or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in direct clinical work and supervisory roles
    • Strong knowledge of trauma, harm reduction, substance use, and systems of oppression
    • Skilled communicator who thrives in diverse, collaborative, and high-impact environments
    • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to complete within 90 days)
    • TB clearance and proof of COVID-19 vaccination within 7 days of hire

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Multilingual or multicultural
    • Familiarity with San Francisco’s housing and behavioral health systems
    • Proficiency with EPIC or similar documentation systems
    • Excellent written, verbal, and administrative skills

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods
    • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
    • Navigate stairs and multiple sites across the city
    • Work in an environment with frequent interruptions and background noise
