Our mission is to connect people with local communities in need in Vietnam.
OUR HISTORY
Volunteer Vietnam was founded by Mr. Viet Dang in 2004. Viet experienced a difficult childhood during the Vietnam War and spent time living in an orphanage. After the war, he became an English teacher, working with underprivileged children. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with international volunteer teachers who came to Vietnam to support English education. He was deeply moved by the spirit of volunteerism and the compassion of these international volunteers, and he recognized the significant impact that volunteer programs could have in improving the lives of disadvantaged people. He established Volunteer Vietnam in 2004 with the mission of connecting international volunteers with disadvantaged communities through volunteer programs in healthcare, social care, and education for those in need. After more than 20 years of operation, Volunteer Vietnam has connected over 2,500 international volunteers with underserved communities in Vietnam. Our programs have provided opportunities for volunteers to visit and support many children and elderly people in difficult circumstances, helping them lead better lives.
