Through everyday creativity, Stride4ward supports adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers by making art expression, immersive experiences, and respite activities more accessible in the places where families already live, gather, and belong.
We imagine communities where people with diverse abilities feel connected, seen, and supported.
Together, we are building inclusive spaces where individuals and their caregivers have meaningful opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and feel valued.
Stride4ward grew from a deeply personal commitment to expanding everyday opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities and the caregivers who support them. Our work is grounded in the belief that access to creative expression, shared community experiences, and moments of rest should not be limited by ability, geography, or resources.
We design small, welcoming experiences that help participants feel comfortable exploring museums, immersive environments, arts programs, and community spaces alongside others. These experiences support emotional well-being, confidence, and connection while also offering caregivers meaningful respite and opportunities to build supportive networks.
Stride4ward partners with families, group homes, and community organizations across New York City to make inclusive participation more accessible in the places people already live and gather. As we grow, we are committed to building thoughtful programs that respond to community needs and create pathways for individuals with diverse abilities to feel seen, included, and valued.
