PROCEED, Inc.

PROCEED Inc. was originally established in 1970 as a 501©(3) federally tax exempt social service corporation, to address the socioeconomic needs of the Latino community in the city of Elizabeth, NJ. PROCEED Inc., has since expanded its services to include everyone in need in response to the demographic changes in the general population and the growing social, health and economic needs of the Latino and non-Latino communities.

PROCEED's services are organized under six general categories:

Community Education: Preschool and after-school services for residents of Elizabeth, NJ. Educational services are provided to low and moderate income working families with children ages 2 to 5 for the preschool.

Community Development: Energy conservation measures and utility payment assistance to income eligible residents of Union County, NJ. Senior Citizen's Home Repair; Transitional Housing for HIV/AIDS clients; and low to moderate income housing development.

Community Health Initiatives: HIV/AIDS prevention case management; HIV/AIDS health education and risk reduction workshops; HIV/AIDS client support groups; HIV counseling and testing; HIV/AIDS community outreach; HIV case management and emergency rental, utility and food assistance; and HIV treatment education.

Individual and Family Development: Individual, and group substance abuse/alcohol treatment, and educational workshops aimed at raising community awareness in the areas of substance abuse, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and parenting; mental health counseling for adolescents and families; child abuse prevention, and intensive in-home parent counseling services.

Multi Services: Information and referral about available services, entitlements, and programs in the community; interpretations and translations; senior citizens support and recreational services; financial emergency assistance for rent, utilities and food for clients in danger of becoming homeless; employment information and referral; and senior services.

National Center for Training, Support, and Technical Assistance: Capacity building, and training and technical assistance provided in the areas of organizational infrastructure enhancement, program and curriculum development, and implementation of HIV prevention interventions. Services target minority organizations throughout the United States, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands, actively providing, or interested in providing services to people at risk for, or living with HIV/AIDS.
