BACKGROUND

Kyamaganda Community Development Organization (KCDO) is a local Community Based Organization registered under Lwengo District Local Government on Registration No. CD/LDLG/734 in 2013 and is located at Kyamaganda village, Nakateete parish, Kisekka sub county along Masaka- Mbarara highway.

In 2013 a group of religious, dynamic and like-minded youth working under Masaka Diocese got together and amalgamated ideas to establish an organization, to address the most humiliating and urgent pressing needs of the community encompassed in capacity building and service delivery to the deprived and marginalized people of the society

KCDO has a long-standing desire to support the under privileged and disadvantaged members of the society through its core programmatic interventions of; Environmental Care and Food Security; Education and Early Childhood Development; Water and Sanitation; Integrated Health; Economic Empowerment; and other cross-cutting development issues involving: Gender mainstreaming; Group dynamics and team building; and Evangelization. KCDO is committed and employs participatory approaches to helping communities from village level upwards. It encourages people in the target areas to form Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and strengthen their own local development agenda to ensure improvement in the lives of the people within the operational area.
