My Own Place was established to maximize the independence of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, through advocating and providing a standard of living that is driven by choices, preferences and desires.
This is accomplished by providing ongoing opportunities to learn preferred skills via staff assistance and suport that enables individuals to live a life of independence and dignity. My Own Place is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, which meets regularly to establish organizational policy. Staff is employed to further the mission of the organization in accordance with established policies and procedures and based upon all governoing laws and regulations.
