MUNDO EXCHANGE MISSION STATEMENT

Transforming the lives of children, families, and communities by tackling poverty and providing opportunities for equality.

Our goal is to improve cross cultural understanding while supporting local community driven projects and individuals through volunteerism and donations.

ABOUT

Mundo Exchange partners with local Thai and Guatemalan organizations to support community development, family economic security, environmental care, and cultural exchange. Local clinics in Thailand offer health related projects such as working with monks to provide hospice care or providing dental hygiene training and toothbrushes to school children.

Volunteer projects support children's learning in rural village schools, and we partner with schools to teach English and environmental awareness.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Mundo provides both volunteer and for-credit opportunities for adults 17 and older at our sites in northeastern Thailand. We have opportunities for both individuals and families.

Volunteers may have the opportunity to tutor Buddhist monks, nuns, and other adult learners through the local Buddhist wats (temples).

Many of our volunteers teach English in small, rural schools alongside the Thai English teacher while living with a local at a home stay in the village.

Through cooperation, cultural exchange, and educational opportunities our volunteers experience total immersion in the culture, foods, celebrations, and daily life of Issan, Thailand!

REQUIREMENTS

*Must be at least 17 years of age to volunteer solo

English communication skills

Patience

Flexibility

A good sense of humor

An open mind and heart

Willingness to try new things

*Families with children under 17 years of age are always welcome to come and volunteer together!
