Pinwheel Place

Who We Are

Started in 2019, Pinwheel Place is a 501 c(3) nonprofit that provides free, licensed emergency and respite childcare to families in need. We provide care for the physical and emotional needs of children, six and under, in New Jersey. 

Examples of services provided are: 

• free emergency care
• respite care (for job interviews, childbirth, court appointments)
• and essential support (such as diapers, clothes, baby supplies).

As a crisis nursery, we are available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. We provide a confidential, judgment-free zone staffed by well-trained employees and volunteers.

Our Mission

Pinwheel Place’s mission is to support parents and families of young children with the intention of reducing stress and decreasing childhood trauma. It is our mission to create a safe and healthy environment for all of the children in our care. By doing this, we can prevent childhood trauma, which has long-lasting effects. If a child has already suffered trauma, our aim is to be a safe and caring relationship for them.

We also provide parents with necessary items such as diapers, clothes, and baby supplies, among other things. Our staff and volunteers deliver these important items to parents in need.
