THE MIDDLE EAST CHILDREN’S INSTITUTE (MECI) addresses the educational, psychosocial, health and other basic humanitarian needs of Middle Eastern children and women in both war-torn and impoverished areas.
MECI is transforming entire communities and giving children a new start.

MECI was founded in 2005 and today MECI operates in the West Bank and Jordan in partnership with the respective Ministries of Education.
MECI is registered as public non-profit charities in Switzerland and the USA and as an international NGO in Jordan.

MECI’s Holistic Child-Centered Community Development model has been developed through a grassroots approach and encompasses three pillars that build on each other:
1) Children’s education and health
2) Women’s empowerment
3) Community development
