    THE MIDDLE EAST CHILDREN’S INSTITUTE (MECI) addresses the educational, psychosocial, health and other basic humanitarian needs of Middle Eastern children and women in both war-torn and impoverished areas. MECI is transforming entire communities and giving children a new start.MECI was founded in 2005 and today MECI operates in the West Bank and Jordan in partnership with the respective Ministries of Education.MECI is registered as public non-profit charities in Switzerland and the USA and as an international NGO in Jordan.MECI’s Holistic Child-Centered Community Development model has been developed through a grassroots approach and encompasses three pillars that build on each other:1) Children’s education and health2) Women’s empowerment3) Community development
