Diaspora Peoples Place

We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to strengthen diaspora communities by empowering creatives and entrepreneurs.

We raise funds by hosting decolonized cultural fairs where diaspora communities and their allies connect, heal, and collaborate for transformative change. Proceeds benefit our Empowerment Fund, providing micro-grants to help diaspora creatives and entrepreneurs grow.

Impact since 2024

• We have welcomed more than 1,500 guests across five events in two states.
• The Empowerment Fund has distributed $3,771.50 in cash micro-grants to emerging entrepreneurs and creatives.
• We have also provided 66 free booths to start-up businesses and local organizations, a contribution valued at $4,950. These offerings have helped new vendors access customers, build visibility, and gain a foothold in the marketplace.

Our events bring together cultural programming, mental health and wellness support, and opportunities for small businesses to earn revenue, which strengthens community cohesion and supports long-term economic resilience.
