The Wendt Center for Loss and healing helps adults, children, and families in the greater Washington, DC area cope with grief. We offer grief counseling, support groups, training, and education to ease the impact of traumatic loss, illness and bereavement. We respect individuals and their experiences, understand the pain of loss, and support people facing illness and death—their own or that of someone they love.
Primary Services: The Wendt Center offers individual grief counseling support groups, and innovative therapeutic programs for adults and children in the Washington, DC, area who have experienced the death of a loved one. Additionally, the Wendt Center provides a range of training and educational programs for mental health professionals, school personnel, first responders, volunteers, and other people who work with people impacted by death and trauma. Over the past few years, the Wendt Center has strengthened and expanded its services to individuals, families and communities affected by homicide, and the professionals and volunteers who serve them. The Wendt Center’s programs reach approximately 3500 people each year.
