The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in sustaining TREE’s mission by supporting, organizing, and engaging our volunteer team. This position oversees all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, tracking, and recognition.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage our volunteer database, including current and past volunteers.
Track and report volunteer hours; notify the board when volunteers reach service milestones (100, 250 hours, etc.) and when TREE reaches collective benchmarks (1,000, 2,500 hours, etc.).
Manage orientation class logistics, including scheduling the Indian River Library conference room, tracking attendance, and coordinating with new recruits.
Oversee background checks for new volunteers, including coordinating payment and processing.
Regularly research and recommend cost-effective (preferably free) best practices and tools for volunteer management.
Provide a monthly report to the board detailing:
Number of new volunteers onboarded
Volunteers inactive in the past 30 days
Total volunteer hours for the month
Current volunteer recruitment and engagement initiatives
