    Description

    Volunteer Coordinator

    The Volunteer Coordinator plays a vital role in sustaining TREE’s mission by supporting, organizing, and engaging our volunteer team. This position oversees all aspects of volunteer management, including recruitment, tracking, and recognition.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage our volunteer database, including current and past volunteers.

    • Track and report volunteer hours; notify the board when volunteers reach service milestones (100, 250 hours, etc.) and when TREE reaches collective benchmarks (1,000, 2,500 hours, etc.).

    • Manage orientation class logistics, including scheduling the Indian River Library conference room, tracking attendance, and coordinating with new recruits.

    • Oversee background checks for new volunteers, including coordinating payment and processing.

    • Regularly research and recommend cost-effective (preferably free) best practices and tools for volunteer management.

    • Provide a monthly report to the board detailing:

      • Number of new volunteers onboarded

      • Volunteers inactive in the past 30 days

      • Total volunteer hours for the month

      • Current volunteer recruitment and engagement initiatives

    This role is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and passionate about building a strong community of support for wildlife rehabilitation.
