Grant Writer

The Grant Writer is responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies to support the organization's programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and identify potential funding sources that align with organizational goals and program needs.
• Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
• Prepare required progress reports and final reports for funded grants.
• Maintain accurate records of all grant submissions, awards, and communications with funders.
• Build and maintain relationships with program officers and foundation representatives.
• Stay current on trends in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.

Qualifications:

• Nonprofit Management, or related field.
• Minimum 1-2 years of professional grant writing experience required.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills
• Strong project management and organizational abilities
• Ability to translate complex program information into clear, persuasive narratives
• Proficiency with grants management software.
• Understanding of nonprofit budgeting and financial statements
• Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines
• Enter, track, and reconcile grant-related expenses in reporting system.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports.
• Review expense documentation for accuracy, allowability, and compliance with funder guidelines.

What We Are Looking For:

• Trauma-Informed Writing: Ability to write about sensitive topics with empathy and professionalism.
• Self-Starter: Someone who can take a "voice note" or a rough draft from our founder and turn it into a polished proposal.

Experience: Prior experience in grant writing or professional technical writing is preferred, but we welcome passionate writers looking to build their portfolio.
