Officials are the heartbeat of roller derby. Whether you’re on skates or off, you’ll build skills, make lasting friendships, and play a key role in Rose City’s dynamic derby scene.
What You’ll Do:
Skating Officials
- Inside Pack Referee: Define the pack, assess penalties, and maintain control.
- Outside Pack Referee: Monitor the outer edge of gameplay.
- Jammer Referee: Track scoring, assign lead jammer status, and call jammer penalties.
Non-Skating Officials
- Jam Timer: Start jams and keep the game on schedule.
- Scorekeeper/Scoreboard Operator: Record and display jammer points.
- Penalty Box Manager/Timer: Track skaters in the penalty box and release them on time.
- Penalty Tracker: Log infractions to keep the game running smoothly.
