Volunteer Grant Writer & Funding Researcher (Remote)
Position Summary
Service Paw Project is seeking a volunteer grant writer to help secure funding that supports service dog teams by reducing the financial burden of veterinary care and promoting proactive wellness. This volunteer will play a key role in helping our young nonprofit identify funding opportunities and prepare compelling grant proposals.
Responsibilities
- Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- Evaluate grant eligibility and funding priorities.
- Prepare, write, and edit grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
- Develop and maintain a grants calendar with application deadlines.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to gather program information, budgets, and supporting documentation.
- Help organize grant records and track submissions and outcomes.
- Identify new funding opportunities that align with our mission.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Interest in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or grant writing.
- Experience writing grants or fundraising is preferred but not required; volunteers looking to build their grant-writing portfolio are encouraged to apply.
- Passion for improving the lives of service dog teams and supporting disability access is a plus.
Time Commitment
Approximately 3–5 hours per week. Flexible schedule. Fully remote.
