    Volunteer Grant Writer & Funding Researcher (Remote)

    Position Summary

    Service Paw Project is seeking a volunteer grant writer to help secure funding that supports service dog teams by reducing the financial burden of veterinary care and promoting proactive wellness. This volunteer will play a key role in helping our young nonprofit identify funding opportunities and prepare compelling grant proposals.

    Responsibilities

    • Research grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
    • Evaluate grant eligibility and funding priorities.
    • Prepare, write, and edit grant proposals and letters of inquiry.
    • Develop and maintain a grants calendar with application deadlines.
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to gather program information, budgets, and supporting documentation.
    • Help organize grant records and track submissions and outcomes.
    • Identify new funding opportunities that align with our mission.

    Qualifications

    • Strong writing, editing, and research skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Interest in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or grant writing.
    • Experience writing grants or fundraising is preferred but not required; volunteers looking to build their grant-writing portfolio are encouraged to apply.
    • Passion for improving the lives of service dog teams and supporting disability access is a plus.

    Time Commitment

    Approximately 3–5 hours per week. Flexible schedule. Fully remote.
