About Health Equity Advocates

Health Equity Advocates (HEA) is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and mobilizing young people to address health disparities in their communities and pursue careers in healthcare.

Through the Health Equity Advocates Network (HEAN), HEA is developing a network of student-led chapters at high schools and colleges, providing students with opportunities to develop leadership, advocacy, public health, and community engagement skills.

About the Opportunity

Health Equity Advocates is seeking a motivated and organized student leader to serve as Vice President of Operations & Chapters.

The Vice President will work closely with the Founder & President to support the organization's internal operations and help develop and strengthen HEA chapters across schools.

This is an experiential learning and leadership opportunity for a student interested in organizational leadership, chapter development, public health, health equity, or nonprofit management.

Responsibilities

• Support the Founder & President in overseeing organizational operations
• Help develop and maintain HEA's chapter network
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Chapter Leaders
• Assist prospective chapters through the chapter development process
• Help onboard and support new Chapter Leaders
• Track chapter development and organizational progress
• Develop systems and resources to support chapters
• Help establish leadership expectations and chapter standards
• Identify challenges affecting chapters and help develop solutions
• Coordinate with the Programs and Communications teams
• Help organize leadership meetings and internal initiatives
• Represent HEA professionally when communicating with chapter leaders and student organizations
• Contribute to the continued development and national expansion of HEAN

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

• Interested in health equity, public health, healthcare, medicine, advocacy, or nonprofit leadership
• Organized and dependable
• Comfortable communicating with students and leaders
• Able to manage multiple responsibilities
• Proactive and willing to take initiative
• Interested in organizational development and leadership
• Able to commit consistent time to the organization
• Passionate about expanding opportunities for students interested in healthcare

Previous executive leadership experience is not required. We are more interested in initiative, reliability, communication, and a genuine commitment to HEA's mission.
