Descripción
Descripción
Organization: The Animal Cause, Inc. (TAC)
Position Type: Volunteer Role
Location: Remote (U.S. Only)
Time Commitment: Approximately 5–10 hours per week (flexible)
Age / Residency Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old, a U.S. citizen, and a U.S. resident
Purpose
Mercy Stage is The Animal Cause’s flagship Shelter and Rescue Animal Visibility Support program. Through Mercy Stage, we create verified, authorized, identity-conscious AI-assisted media packages for long-stay and overlooked shelter animals facing urgent placement decisions.
As a Mercy Stage AI Video & Media Specialist, you will not be creating generic promotional graphics or cartoonish content. Instead, you will transform verified shelter photographs and facts into truth-preserving, emotionally compelling AI video reels, graphics, and verified captions designed to help unseen animals get noticed, adopted, or rescued.
What Makes Mercy Stage Different
Most organizations use media tools merely to edit graphics. Mercy Stage uses a governed production system where truth comes before reach. Our standard dictates that AI may enhance motion, lighting, and composition, but it must never alter an animal’s permanent physical identity—such as coat markings, eye color, facial geometry, or observed temperament. Every piece of media we create preserves the true, dignified identity of God's creation while giving overlooked animals a digital voice.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identity-Preserving AI Video Generation: Convert raw shelter photographs into realistic 3–5 second cinematic motion clips using generative video AI tools (e.g., Kling AI, Luma AI, Hailuo, or Runway) using strict camera-dolly and prompt-engineering standards.
- Post-Production & Packaging: Assemble raw AI video renders into vertical video reels (1080x1920) using CapCut or Canva, integrating auto-captions, subtle background audio, branding overlays, and direct shelter contact details.
- Graphic & Caption Development: Create formatted social media carousels, alt text, hashtags, and factual, adoption-oriented captions based strictly on verified shelter records—never inventing medical history, urgency, or compatibility.
- Side-by-Side Quality Auditing: Perform mandatory identity checks comparing generated outputs against raw shelter source photos to ensure 100% anatomical accuracy, zero facial morphing, and zero distorted physical features.
- Testing & Workflow Documentation: Participate in team evaluations of AI engines, prompt frameworks, and rendering success rates to refine TAC’s standardized production pipeline.
Core Skill Sets & Tools
- Generative Video AI: Experience or strong interest in prompt engineering and camera control vectors inside tools like Kling AI, Luma Dream Machine, Hailuo AI, Runway, or Midjourney/DALL-E.
- Video Editing & Post-Production: Proficiency in CapCut or Canva Pro for vertical video assembly, caption syncing, text overlays, and audio leveling.
- Visual Storytelling & Copywriting: Ability to write concise, emotionally resonant, and factual social media copy that inspires viewer action without using misleading claims.
- High Detail & Factual Integrity: Uncompromising commitment to accuracy, ensuring shelter ID numbers, contact channels, and physical traits remain exact across all deliverables.
- Mission Alignment: Respect for the Christian foundation and stewardship values of The Animal Cause, Inc.
Deliverable Focus
Every specialist contributes directly to the production of Mercy Stage Visibility Packages, which include:
- A 3–5 second identity-accurate AI-assisted video reel.
- A branded social portrait or carousel graphic.

- Looking at your schedule over the next 30 to 60 days, what predictable work or personal commitments might compete with your volunteer hours?
- When life or work gets unexpectedly busy, what is your strategy for communicating delays or adjusting your commitments before a deadline passes?
- We ask for 10-20 consistent hours per week. Have you volunteered or worked remotely in a similar capacity before, and how did you structure that time?
- We are actively building our foundational systems. How do you react when assigned a high-level outcome without a step-by-step SOP already written?
- Describe a time you encountered a technical or operational blocker in a project. Did you wait for direction, or how did you move the needle forward?
- How do you stay organized and hold yourself accountable when working asynchronously without a manager actively checking in on you daily?
- The Animal Cause is grounded in Christian stewardship principles. How do you feel about serving within and representing a faith-aligned mission?
- We require strict adherence to internal communication and security rules (such as using @animalcause.org email accounts and designated platforms). How do you feel about operating within strict technical boundaries?
- What attracted you to our specific mission versus a traditional 'foster-and-adopt' shelter model?
