Our hospice program is seeking compassionate volunteers to provide companionship and emotional support to patients facing life-limiting illnesses. Volunteers play an important role in enhancing quality of life through friendly visits, conversation, reading, listening, and supportive presence.

Responsibilities

• • Visit hospice patients in the care center or designated locations
  • Provide companionship and social interaction
  • Read aloud, play games, or engage in meaningful conversation
  • Offer emotional support and active listening
  • Report concerns to hospice staff as appropriate
  • Maintain patient confidentiality

Requirements

• • Compassionate and dependable
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work respectfully with patients and families
  • Complete hospice volunteer training and background screening
  • Must be at least 18 years old (or according to agency policy)

Time Commitment

• • Flexible scheduling
  • Approximately 2-4 hours per week
