Reporting to the Social Media Director, the Social Media Specialist will plan, write, and publish the content on FAR's social channels, which for many people are the first place they encounter us. You'll work directly with the Social Media Director to develop posts against the content calendar, adapt work across platforms, coordinate with the Creative Lead and Graphic Design Specialist on visuals, and stay current on how each platform behaves. You'll work with the Community Manager cohort, which manages external conversation once a post is live.
What you'll do:
- Plan, write, and publish content against FAR's social content calendar
- Adapt content across platforms (Instagram, TikTok, BlueSky, Threads, and others)
- Coordinate with the Creative Lead and Graphic Design Specialists on visuals
- Stay current on platform behavior, formats, and best practices
- Hand off published posts to the Community Manager cohort for engagement
You might be a good fit if you have:
- Experience managing social channels for an organization, brand, or cause
- Fluency across major platforms and a willingness to learn new ones
- Basic design literacy and comfort with in-platform editing tools
- Good judgment about tone in sensitive moments
- Additional languages, Spanish especially (a plus)
