About CASA Prince George’s County
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers stand with children and youth in foster care by helping the court understand what a child needs to be safe and supported. When systems are complicated, consistency matters—and CASA volunteers help provide that steady, informed presence.
What you’ll do
As a CASA volunteer, you will:
- Build a consistent relationship with a child or youth in foster care
- Speak up for their best interests by gathering facts and listening closely
- Communicate with key adults in the child’s life (caregivers, schools, service providers, etc.)
- Attend virtual court hearings and submit written recommendations to the court with support of your assigned case supervisor
- Help ensure the child’s needs don’t get overlooked in the process
Time commitment & requirements
To be a strong fit for this role, you must be able to:
- Commit to at least 1 year
- Dedicate 8–12 hours per month
- Complete 30+ hours of training (provided by CASA)
- Pass a background check
- Have reliable transportation for in-person responsibilities in/near Prince George’s County
Who this role is for
You don’t need a law degree. You do need follow-through, compassion, and the ability to stay consistent.
