    Chapter Outreach Associate

    DIVISION: Departmental GRADE: Volunteer

    DEPARTMENT: Chapter Operations WORK DAYS: 15-20/hr per week

    REPORTS TO: Director Of Chapter Operations FLSA STATUS: N/A

    transformative policy and bold political action, predominantly at a state and local level. We are committed to a

    bottom-up movement that prioritizes the needs of the communities we represent and seeks to reclaim our

    future by advocating for social, economic, environmental, and other kinds of political reform.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Chapter Outreach Associate position is considered a departmental position within the Department of

    Chapter Operations and reports directly to the Director of Chapter Operations. This role plays an essential

    part in the organization’s mission to build and maintain a robust network of youth-led, pro-worker chapters

    nationwide. The Chapter Outreach Associate focuses on direct community outreach, building and

    maintaining relationships, and engaging with schools, students, and community partners who may be

    interested in starting new chapters of Beyond the Ballot. This position helps ensure that the organization's

    expansion efforts are inclusive, strategic, and aligned with Beyond the Ballot’s mission, values, and

    long-term vision for chapter growth. Ideal candidates are passionate about youth leadership, civic

    engagement, and equitable movement-building. They possess strong communication and organizational

    skills, a collaborative spirit, and a deep commitment to supporting the growth of a national network of

    student and community leaders.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

    • High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or technical school preferred

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • Prior work in the non-profit sector is highly preferred.
    • Experience in managing and mentoring staff, collaborating with different departments, and fostering

    a positive work culture.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Engage in recruitment and outreach efforts in support of identifying individuals to start or join new,

    emerging, or existing Beyond the Ballot chapters across the country.

    • Coordinate and conduct outreach to students, schools, universities, and community organizations to

    share information about chapter opportunities at Beyond the Ballot and encourage participation.

    • Coordinate with the other Chapter Operation staff and Beyond the Ballot’s network of student

    leaders for opportunities around guest speakerships, political, student-focused volunteer activities,

    and other efforts that align with Beyond the Ballot’s mission and goals.

    • Maintain a rotation of interested chapter leaders and members, supporting the Director of Chapter

    Operations in ensuring a timely follow-up and consistent communication.

    • Collaborate with Beyond the Ballot’s Deputy Director to develop and implement targeted

    recruitment campaigns and outreach materials.

    • Participate in informational sessions, interest meetings, and virtual events to promote chapter

    formation and recruitment.

    • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and contact lists, providing progress reports in

    departmental tracking systems, including analyses and evaluations of actual or potential

    effectiveness of current and/or projected outreach activities, and make recommendations to

    improve outreach effectiveness.

    • Assist the Department in onboarding new chapters by coordinating introductory meetings, providing

    onboarding materials, and connecting leaders to available resources.

    • Work with other members of the Chapter Operations Department to ensure smooth communication

    and support between new and existing chapters.

    • Contribute ideas to enhance recruitment strategies that engage and mobilize college students and

    young professionals, and increase the visibility of the chapter network.

    • Uphold the organization’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equitable leadership development.

    Environmental Requirements: Ability to encounter constant work interruptions; work cooperatively with others; work

    Mental Requirements: Ability to read, write, understand, interpret, and apply information at a moderately complex level

    essential for successful job performance; math skills at a high school proficiency level; judgment and the ability to process

    information quickly; learn quickly and follow verbal procedures and standards; give verbal instruction; rank tasks in order

    of importance; copy, compare, compile and coordinate information and records. Understand how to manage stress.

    Remote Work Requirements: Regular access to a stable internet connection is required.

    Additional Work Conditions & Physical Abilities: Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between various in-person

    working environments. May require travel to multiple states.
