Our most common position, the Day Shelter Volunteer is a flexible position that supports staff with daily operations around the Day Shelter.
Duties include:
- Washing dishes
- Sanitizing tables and chairs
- Sanitizing counters and equipment
- Serving meals
- Distributing food
- Sweeping and mopping
- Receiving and sorting donations
- Scheduling the shower and laundry
- Assisting with special events, projects, & giveaways
This opportunity is for volunteers who are aged 18 and over.
Shifts are flexible, Sunday – Friday, 9 am – 4:30 pm, one or more days per week for a two to four-hour shift, with a minimum two-month commitment.

There are many important ways to get involved at EGH and help to break the cycle of homelessness. We can work around your schedule, accommodate your needs, and utilize your skills.
