Volunteer Opportunity: Spanish Translator / Proofreader

The American Red Cross is seeking dedicated Spanish translators and proofreaders to ensure our communications are accurate, culturally appropriate, and impactful. Your skills will help deliver emergency alerts, life‑saving resources, and vital information to Spanish‑speaking communities worldwide.

Core Responsibilities:

• Translate and proofread internal and external documents
• Post‑edit machine‑translated materials for clarity and accuracy
• Use CAT tools to maintain consistency across projects
• Apply reviewer feedback to refine translations and uphold quality standards

Qualifications:

• Fluent in Spanish & English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Degree/certification in translation OR equivalent professional experience
• Strong skills in editing, proofreading, and attention to detail
• Commitment to Red Cross values and communication excellence
• Applicants will complete a short evaluation (translation, proofreading, writing sample)
