Strength Over All Resistance

The S.O.A.R. Mentoring Program is an adult, one-to-one, mentoring program serving 30 female participants enrolled in the Friend's Transitional Housing Program and Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program. S.O.A.R. participants are matched, for one year, with female mentors recruited from local business establishments/corporations, religious institutions, community organizations, women's organizations, sororities, academic institutionsand women within the community who are compelled to uplift and encourage another woman towards reaching her fullest potential. This dynamic relationship is established for the sole purpose of connecting participants with some of the most ambitious, professional and influential women within the community, who also possess the true passion and skill for empowering women and are invested in assisting participants in taking their life to the next level. In addition, S.O.A.R. provides its participants with further enrichment in areas such as social development, life skills, parenting, career planning, cultural exposure and emotional support through workshops and community events that are both informative and culturally enriching.
